Latest Play Room News

Since September the children in Badgers have been settling in and getting involved with lots of different activities. We have been using the mark making area and joining in with group-painting activities for the wall displays in Badgers room. We have also introduced a Makaton sign of the month that is currently ‘Hello’.

Hedgehogs have been focused on Self-Portraits talking about their facial features and getting to know each other and new friends. They are currently exploring Autumn with activities such as conker rolling, leaf number matching and printing. They have used the activity tray to place leaves inside for the children to explore.  Hedgehogs have also been looking at colours, numbers and shapes.

In Squirrels they have been getting to know each other and learning the ‘Golden Rules’ and routines.  They are currently doing lots of Autumn activities. The Squirrel children have taken part in leaf rubbing activities and conker rolling. The children have also been talking about Harvest and have discussed healthy eating and have taken part in vegetable printing.  The week of the 12th October they will be focusing on hand washing and how important it is to clean our hands properly by taking part in experiments.
